What to Expect in Corporate Worship on Sunday

We come together every Sunday morning to hear God’s Word, sing and praise His glorious Name, believe His Gospel, call upon Him for help, salvation, and daily needs, and be conformed to His Word in the sermon.

Our service begins at 11:00 a.m., so we recommend coming several minutes early to grab a worship bulletin and to prepare our hearts to worship God.    Check here for directions. We meet in “The Upper Room” sanctuary located on the second floor, and restrooms are conveniently located just down the hall. A service in Korean is conducted downstairs at the same time.

Our service begins when God calls us to worship from His Word, and we respond in prayer and songs of praise. A time of confession follows as we hear from God’s Word, and we are reminded that we can confess our sins and place our faith in Jesus Christ, since He has secured our salvation. We read from the Bible, pray corporately, and recite our timeless faith as our constitution that climaxes as God speaks to us through the sermon. We offer the fruit of our lives in tithes & offerings, song and prayer, while we are reminded of God’s blessing on us, and then we are dismissed in the consecration.

On the first Sunday of every month, we celebrate Holy Communion for the first half of the service. We invite to the Lord’s Supper all who are baptized members of a church, who trust in Christ alone for salvation, and who are not under church discipline.

After the service concludes, everybody is invited to a congregational meal. This meal is provided as a gift from the church, and it’s a chance to enjoy some real, authentic Korean food!

We spend some time in the afternoon in fellowship: whether in Bible study, recreation, or singing as we build relationships to learn how to glorify God together as a church.

Hopefully you’re clear on what to expect when you worship with us at Rock Presbyterian Church. We look forward to seeing you soon!
